Jennifer Norford
Chief Program Officer

I’m Jennifer Norford, and I am the chief program officer at Marzano Research and one of three owners of the company. I have primary oversight for our programmatic work, advancement of core services, and business development.

I have almost 30 years of experience in pre-K–12 and postsecondary education as a teacher, instructional materials developer, technical assistance provider, research and development specialist, and development director. I have co-authored numerous books and journal articles, including, most recently, books on classroom assessment and personalized competency-based education. I bring a mix of product and business development, managerial, and operations experience to my role, along with content and programmatic expertise in science, engineering, mathematics, and English language arts.

I serve as a director and am the past chair of the board of directors of the Knowledge Alliance. This association is a non-profit, non-partisan organization focused on enabling educators at the state, district, and school levels to make informed, evidence-based decisions to improve K-12 public education.

I earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English, as well as a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering, from Virginia Tech.
