Amanda believes strongly in the ability of education to transform lives. She is committed to using data-driven methods to support improvements in education and excited about using her skill set to support education research.

As research librarian, Amanda focuses on supporting clients and stakeholders, primarily through the Ask A REL service for the Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Central contract. She also supports internal projects on an organizational level. She collaborates with staff to provide innovative solutions that support complex, evolving research needs and provide reference- and information-based services to colleagues and clients.

Amanda has over 10 years of experience as a professional librarian, working with public libraries in California and Colorado, where she specialized in child and teen services. Additionally, she worked with the Colorado State Library as the project coordinator for the Research Institute for Public Libraries. She also worked as a grant monitor and coordinator for the Eureka! Leadership Institute in California.

Amanda earned her master’s degree in library and information science from San Jose State University and her bachelor’s degree in communications and journalism from Mills College in Oakland, California.
