As an Education Improvement Specialist at Marzano Research, Anne Butterworth enjoys drawing on her experience as a K–12 teacher and administrator to support the research team in connecting research studies to real-world experiences.
In her role, Anne supports cross-project communication and ongoing capacity-building for Marzano Research. For example, she attends various project meetings to gain insight into collaboration and dissemination processes. She also supports Marzano Research with monthly and quarterly reporting.
Anne has 20 years of experience as a K–12 classroom educator specializing in assessment, deep learning, and career and technical education. Additionally, she has experience in education leadership and professional development, with a focus on inquiry-based learning, needs assessment, systemic design, and implementation. Her recent research interests include systemic change, strategic implementation, and competency-based education. Anne received her doctorate in organizational leadership from the University of LaVerne, with an emphasis on designing and implementing transformational change in K–12 schools. She also holds a master’s degree in technology education and a bachelor’s degree in industrial arts education.
