Diane E. Paynter, an international trainer and researcher, has worked extensively in the areas of standards, curriculum and instruction, assessment, grading, record keeping, literacy development, and leadership.

Diane E. Paynter has worked in the field of education for over 30 years, gaining vast experience as a classroom teacher, school leader, and consultant. Her work has been in urban, rural, and suburban schools throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, Asia, and South America, where she has provided direction, completed training, created conceptual frameworks, and offered technical support to leadership teams in their efforts to apply current research to improve student learning. Additionally, she has led high school, middle school, elementary school, and Title 1 consortia and long-term projects in various low-performing inner-city and rural schools and districts. Diane was awarded a commendation from the governor of Indiana for her efforts in helping low-performing schools in that state.

In the past few years, Diane has led schools and districts in focusing on the use of standards and proficiency scales in the classroom and aligning curriculum, instruction, and assessments practices to these standards and scales. Diane has authored and coauthored numerous books and articles throughout the years and has served on the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development national cadre focusing on the implementation of research from Dr. Robert J. Marzano’s books What Works in Schools: Translating Research into Action and The Art and Science of Teaching.

Diane received a master of arts in teaching from Oakland City University and a bachelor of science from Brigham Young University.
