As a researcher as Marzano Research, Jing fulfills her passion for learning and contributing positively to the lives of kids.

With training in quantitative and qualitative research methods, substantial experience with descriptive and inferential statistics, and expertise with multiple statistical software packages, Jing leads and assists in numerous projects at Marzano Research. For example, she helps to lead a study to examine the impact of approaches to classroom-level student engagement. She also supports a number of Regional Educational Laboratory Central projects. 

With over 12 years of experience in conducting research and program evaluation, Jing’s primary focus has been on educational leadership; school improvement; and educator mobility, quality, and effectiveness. Before coming to Marzano Research, she served as a research assistant on a 3-year project in Zhongshan, China, to examine the status of principal development and provide recommendations for improvement. Additionally, she was the principal investigator on a project examining the racial and ethnic composition of students and teachers across Pennsylvania. She also worked closely with research staff at the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation at North Carolina State University to evaluate the global learning program and digital learning initiative in North Carolina.

Jing received her doctorate in educational leadership, with an emphasis on teacher mobility and leadership, from Pennsylvania State University. She also holds a master’s degree in educational administration, with an emphasis on principal evaluation, from Beijing Normal University in China.
