Marzano Research has been awarded a contract to facilitate the Idaho Principals Network (IPN) for the Idaho State Department of Education. The IPN is a professional learning community for principals across Idaho focused on increasing their leadership effectiveness and impact at the school level.

Marzano Research will support IPN principals through a series of two-day institutes and follow-up coaching. Our experts in school improvement will integrate learning and networking to strengthen participants’ leadership practice, using evidence-based resources and practical applications for school leaders.

Topics of study for the IPN include:

  • Leading self—understanding personal style and beliefs and cultivating the soft skills of leadership.
  • Leading teams—applying concepts and research on a school’s instructional core and collaborative professionalism.
  • Leading in the community—successfully navigating contextual factors to be an effective leader and advocate for a school within the broader community.
  • Leading for impact—cultivating and leading toward a shared vision of school and student success.

The Idaho State Department of Education is committed to retaining principals and seeing them thrive, which will ultimately improve student and school outcomes. Through our work with the IPN, Marzano Research will help equip principals with the practical skills (learning) and social capital (networking) to achieve excellence as the frontline leaders in the Idaho education system.
